2013 Nike Shield Flash Jacket Today marks 10 years since Yung Lean dropped the music video for his hit single Kyoto. One of the most memorable shots from this video (and the video’s thumbnail) is Yung Lean and his crew all wearing this reflective Nike Shield Flash Jacket that retailed for $350 ($452 adjusted for inflation) back in 2013. The jacket is originally designed for running in low light and it combines reflectivity, breathability and weather protection. Its stand out feature is the glass-beaded exterior on the lower body and sleeves that produces 360 degrees of 400-candlepower reflectivity for enhanced visibility. In a bonded construction the jacket combines Storm-FIT 10 fabric that delivers breathable wind and water resistance with sweat-wicking Dri-FIT knit fabric on the inner collar and cuffs that helps keep the wearer dry. The jacket has two zipped pockets on the front with an elasticated slot inside of them perfect for securing e.g. a smaller iPod. The right pocket has a small port to thread earbuds through the jacket’s lining and up to the ears. The jacket also has built in thumb holes, a waterproof front zipper, cordlocks at the hem and an adjustable and removable hood. Good preowned condition. The reflective material has a few marks. Wear to the reflective material is noticeable on the front around the right pocket and on parts of the sleeves. Still has a lot of life left.
